Receding gums can be repaired through a soft tissue graft procedure. This can drastically improve the health and appearance of a patient's smile.

DR. JIMMY KILIMITZOGLOU: When patients have recession, the gum is at a higher level and we’re exposing the tooth structure that normally was covered by the gum tissue. That can either lead to sensitive teeth or just a plain unaesthetic smile.
What we could do is a soft tissue graft which means we can go to the palette and take some gum tissue from there and move it to the area where we want to improve the smile. Now sometimes, that’s not even necessary. We can use a synthetic material and place it there eliminating that extra surgery.
